Our Past Week...Christmas Trip

What a great time we had this past week! We ended up going to Missoula to spend time with family for Christmas. Adam managed to get 6 days off from work after only have a total of 2 days off for the entire last month! So here is a little of what our last week looked like:

Adam was able to leave work early on Christmas Eve  because the snow had started to fall that morning and we had to make our trip to Missoula, hoping to make it before it got dark. The first two hours of driving, the roads were miserable...ice everywhere and many cars in the ditch. A good reminder to continue slow although several times, I thought we were crazy to even be traveling! The last hour of our trip was great, funny how the roads can just all of a sudden be perfect after being so bad. We made it safely and got dressed for Christmas Eve Mass! We attended Mass at the Church I grew up in as a young child, St. Francis Xavier...beautiful Church. Amanda enjoyed looking at all the beautiful architecture, paintings and stained glass windows, which was great considering Mass started about 2 hours after her normal bedtime. When we arrived back at Grandma's, Santa had already made his stop...it was Princesses and a new sled for Amanda this year!

We got up Christmas morning and went sledding down at the school I attended for the last couple years of elementary school. They have a great hill that is perfect for sledding and it brought back many great memories from childhood.

We spent much of the next couple days after Christmas going around town...spending time with friends and family who we hadn't seen for awhile. It is always so nice to spend quality time and catch up. We also went to the Carousel in Missoula (one of Amanda's favorite places to visit) and she got to ride a couple times. The first time she got to ride on her favorite "Paint"!

We took Amanda to the Children's Museum in Missoula. It was so much fun! We spent 3 hours in there but if we would have planned better, we probably could have spent an entire day! They had so many fun projects and activities and Amanda was the perfect age to take! They had a market, a science slide, a puppet stage, a "jungle tree house", magnet fishing, dinosaur dig, dress up, "doctor's office", building room, water table and art room!!

Amanda spent the night at my brother's apartment Friday night. They baked cookies, watched movies and made a gingerbread house! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family!

We ALSO stopped by the Humane Society in Missoula. In Bozeman, this is one of our favorite outings so we thought we would check it out. Amanda LOVES animals and had fun spending time with the cats and dogs at the shelter.

We went bowling Saturday night before having to leave the next day to get back to Bozeman. We went with my family...it had been a while since we had bowled last, but we had so much fun. Amanda loved it! One of the pics is a little blurry, but I added it anyways because he expression and excitement are what make these outings so memorable. After bowling, we went out for pizza!

What a great way to end 2012! Looking forward to what the future holds! We are so Blessed!!
