Feast of St.Nick

Happy Feast of St. Nicholas a day late!! We set our shoes out on the Eve of the Feast of St. Nick and yesterday, we woke up to special goodies that St. Nick had left us in our shoes!! Amanda was especially excited for her new princess socks and her activity pack. She sat and colored each page and pulled all the stickers from that activity pack....it kept her busy for about 1 1/2 hours!

Amanda had an extra special day as we had planned a special "sleepover" night at her Auntie Jill's house. In the afternoon, we had started to get snow and roads became very slick fast...it put her sleepover night in jeopardy as I really didn't want to make the trip into Bozeman, but Amanda had been so excited for the past week for this night, and after talking to Jill it sounded as she had been just as excited, so we made the trip in.

We ended up having to take the highway, as the frontage road we usually take had been shut to multiple accidents...praying the whole 10 miles in, that we would make it there safely. Took us two hours round trip...something that normally would take us 15 minutes each way! We made it safe and sound and after hearing the excitement in Amanda's voice of all the things she got to do at Auntie Jill's, I was reassured that we had made the right decision. Amanda got to decorate cookies, watch a movie and eat popcorn, paint nails and stay up extra late and cozy up to Auntie Jill at night! Thanks Jill for making this special night for her that I'm sure she will be talking about for quite sometime and helping us to remember how much we are blessed and how much we love our little girl.

Adam and I quickly realized as we walked back in the door, when we had arrived home, that things just aren't the same without little Amanda. What a joy she has brought to our life..life just wouldn't be the same without her..we were feeling extra blessed for the gift of parenthood, but also missing our little bundle of joy. I had wanted to get a ton of product done for Bridger Babies but we took advantage of the time together and had  a date night at home...dinner and a movie! Best decision, as date nights are rare and few.

As I headed for bed, I turned at the top of the stairs to make my normal trip to Amanda's room to check on her, re-tuck her in, and give her a kiss...then remembered she wasn't here...Reminded me again of how truly blessed we are to have that little darling in our life. I must say...we had a wonderful, uninterrupted night's sleep...which was amazing, but as we woke this morning, we reminisced on how it just wasn't the same and Adam admitted he even kinda missed Amanda standing at the side of his bed asking for assistance in re-dressing after using the toilet in the morning. Haha. Parenthood definitely changes you!!

Today was a nice day at the house...we had Amanda's cousins over to play...Amanda and Ryan had fun playing out back in the newly fallen snow.
